UNREST translates an object from the shadow space of consumer culture into a physical piece of furniture. The transparent bag, filled with white particles, appears soft and inviting — while remaining an unsettling image of excess, status, control and loss of control.

The seat becomes evidence. It holds the shape of someone who wanted to stop, while the symbol around that pause remains charged with movement, appetite and unrest.

The object negotiates a social contradiction: we long for rest, but live within systems that constantly push us toward more. More possession, more performance, more visibility, more sedation. The body sinks in, yet the symbol remains restless.

As a limited art-furniture piece, UNREST makes visible how quickly desire, crisis and dependency are aestheticized. It is a beanbag about comfort — and about the inability to ever get enough of it.
